Statewide Telehealth · Pennsylvania

Online Therapy Across Pennsylvania

Wherever you live in Pennsylvania, from a city neighborhood to a small town, Lauren Mehr offers secure telehealth so specialized trauma and eating disorder care can come to you.

Specialized care isn't always close by. In much of Pennsylvania, finding a therapist who focuses on complex trauma or eating disorders can mean long drives or settling for someone who isn't quite the right fit. Telehealth changes that. Lauren Mehr is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, and she works with adults anywhere in the state by secure video.

Her home base is Doylestown, in Bucks County, where she also sees adults in person. For everyone else across the state, the work happens online, with the same paced, embodied, trauma-focused approach.

Who it can help

When distance shouldn't decide your care.

Statewide telehealth can be a good fit if you:

  • Live in a rural area or small town without nearby specialists.
  • Have a schedule that makes commuting to appointments unrealistic.
  • Feel safer and more settled doing this work from home.
  • Need care that continues through travel within the state, illness, or a move.
  • Value privacy, with no waiting room and no chance of running into someone you know.

Lauren works with adults 21 and older navigating complex trauma and PTSD, eating disorders, body image struggles, sexual abuse recovery, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

The licensing rule

Where you are matters.

Because therapists are licensed state by state, you need to be physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of each session. Lauren is also licensed in Arizona, so sessions are possible there as well. If you're traveling outside those states, talk with Lauren ahead of time so you can plan around it.

The rule applies even to a single session, so a little planning keeps your care consistent through vacations, work trips, and visits with family. Lauren can help you think through the details.

Setting up

A few practical things.

Online sessions go more smoothly when you can settle into a private space. You don't need anything fancy:

  • A private room, or another space where you won't be overheard.
  • Headphones, which add privacy and help you hear clearly.
  • A device with a camera and a stable internet connection.
  • A few minutes on either side of the session to arrive and transition.

Somatic work adapts to the screen more easily than you might expect, because so much of it is about noticing: your breath, your posture, the sensations that rise and fall. Lauren checks in often and explains each step before you take it.

Ways to work together

Everything is available online.

By secure telehealth, adults across Pennsylvania can access:

Common questions

What people ask.

Can I do online therapy from anywhere in Pennsylvania?
Yes. As long as you're physically located in Pennsylvania at the time of the session, you can meet with Lauren by secure video from home, work, or another private space anywhere in the state.
What if I don't feel comfortable on video?
That's understandable, and it may ease with time. You can set up your camera however feels comfortable, and Lauren will check in about what helps. If video never feels right, you're welcome to talk about other options, including in-person sessions in Doylestown.
What happens if I travel out of state?
Sessions require you to be physically located in Pennsylvania or Arizona, where Lauren is licensed. If you'll be away, let her know ahead of time so you can plan around it, whether that means rescheduling or adjusting the timing of a session.
How does payment work for online sessions?
Online sessions work the same way as in-person sessions. Brave Embers Wellness is primarily a private-pay practice at $175 per 60-minute session, and Lauren partners with Thrizer to help with out-of-network reimbursement. The rates page explains the details.
